Another month and another slightly delayed blog...
So let us cut to the chase; November saw the Judging Standards Council (JSC) AGM take place.
Getting together with Allan Tait and the various Judges is a great opportunity to not only catch up on Society matters, but also more socially as we only see each other in person a couple of times a year. Various topics were discussed; including next years show size changes, alongside some early discussions around returning ownership and maintenance of our show rules to the JSC.
Our National Show Committee also got together during November; it was great to see the new committee out in full force, and raring to go as we head towards 2024 - don't forget the slightly earlier show dates for next year (end June).
It’s certainly got colder, and during a rough UK winter, alongside our now darker evenings, getting out and spending some time with the fish can be a mission.
I’d urge you to keep the faith, as regular checks shouldn’t be ignored (even if that’s observing your fish for 5 or 10 minutes, or checking your drum waste chute). If we start to see hard frosts and snow, please check filtration regularly, with some planning and foresight most disasters can be averted.
We’re running a Christmas Giveaway over on our Members Facebook Group, get over there and enter if you haven't already; midnight deadline (8th December) - you could win yourself a Arlo wireless 1080p camera.
The end of November sees things quieten down for Christmas and the New Year, and our committees won’t get back together until the New Year.
I’ll be back late December with a quick blog, probably just with some festive greetings - stay warm, and enjoy the hobby.
