Historically Sections were formed when a group of BKKS members formed a Koi Club, and it was a requirement that to be a member of the local Section, you were also required to be a BKKS member. Over the years this requirement has been modified to the point whereby a Section is only required to have 1 BKKS member.
It is worth noting the many things the BKKS provide are already set up and available to the Sections.
We identified that the only logical way forward was to set a simple annual affiliation fee for Sections, which would reflect what was actually provided and the costs incurred.
During 2017's Annual General Meeting, it was agreed that we simplify our costs to Sections, alongside the subsequent benefits. It was important to us that this took place in consultation with the Sections, rather than being dictated by the Society.
Further information on Section Benefits can be found below.
*New* BKKS Membership Included
As part of our on-going support to BKKS Sections, we have for the last few years, provided BKKS Membership as a Section Benefit. This is applicable to all Section Members
JSC Allocation Office & BKKS Judges
As mentioned previously, the BKKS provide a dedicated Judge Allocation Officer, for our Sections that organise koi shows. Our Allocation Office should be contacted 4 weeks prior to your show, and our Allocation Officer will liaise with the JSC duly organising Judge attendance (£6 per vat)
Public Liability Insurance
£5 Million Public Liability insurance provided to any Section, to assist with show organisation.
Non Electrical Equipment Hire
Sections will be able to hire non electrical equipment, duly assisting with their club (closed) koi shows. Given the current economic climate, alongside global supply shortages, and our inability to source the correct size and colour of vats, this benefit is currently being reviewed
BKKS National Koi Show Advertising
Free stand space, and show programme advertising
*The BKKS reserve the right to change or modify any of these benefits, pursuant to relevant communication and agreement with our Sections.
If you would like your Club to become a Section of the BKKS, then all you need to do is apply via email to secretary@bkks.co.uk providing as much information as possible, about your Club and its activities.
Your application to become a Section of the BKKS will then be considered at the next available Committee Meeting.
