Busy...Busy...Busy...

The back end of September is usually a busy period and given The All England Koi Show. This year, seemingly more so with a number of key Society Meetings and many conversations in the lead up to last weekend.

We've been through a somewhat intense few weeks, given the end of our Consultation Period and the clarity we now have that what ever happens with our Members Vote The Society will no longer exist.

Joining The Society just prior to COVID, I had no idea that in some five years I'd be closing its doors. For me, there's been ups and downs over those five years, hard work at times, but I'll leave at the end of this year with some good memories.

The Society always attracted me given its proud 50+ year history, some of you may question the use of the word proud, however that is how I see it. In the koi hobby heydays of the 70's, 80's and early 90's computers and social media weren't a thing, and The Society was the only bonafide source of koi information; good quality information is what I feel this hobby may always need, not clickbait and misleading commentary.

The Society (BKKS) and ZNA were formed around the same time with a historical 'nod' to our then Chairman in a late 70's Dr Kuroki printed koi manual; the only other relatable Koi Society's in the world are the Japanese ZNA and the Australian Koi Society in pure longevity terms.

Voting opened tonight (3rd October) on our two Member Proposals and remains open for a further 10 days (10th October 2025) - please do vote if you are a member as your voice matters.

Whatever you are up to; stay safe and enjoy the hobby.

Rob.
